15.10.03 Most Valuable Player
Congratulations go to Horse, who was awarded the highly sought-after Whites Drinking XI MVP for 2003.
15.10.03 Final Match
The second Saturday in October, it's what all the Whites aspire to, they drink all season, for that great day in October. Where boys can become men, drunks can become heroes, and whites can sleaze hard.
Reading the form guide, you would have to say going into the Bill Hill final, the lineup was looking strong. The form of Cam and the Horse (carrying his beloved MVP award) had been inspiring. And they had their captain back (the Yak), and it was Cal's farewell.
Going into the Mojo, the Whites were carrying a few injuries.
• Richardo and Armin had pulled wives
• Diego had a left Australia complex
But returning to the side was Perth, an old style centre midfield (sleaze and groove type player).
Early play was up the wings, the selector was out to blow a couple of hundred in shots, delivered with great accuracy to Cam and Yak. Yak made the first bursting run onto the dance floor, but was swiftly tackled by one of a number of Unley players who were staking a claim for Mojo glory.
A weak performance from the Wookie, who was seen sneaking off early. Windows having to step up, and look after the young Bushe. But it was a lost cause, the Whites youth policy was again left up to the Windows. Is Adelaide that lacking in quality young players??
Windows and the Face were working the defensive line, monitoring female action... quiet lacking for those too. Cal was offensively strong, using the old accent to try and setup the slow moving defence.
In a moment of pure glamour, the whites went for the huddle play... the song "That's it, Calum's it" It was beautiful it was brilliant, it was a good bye. A fantastic lad, who couldn't be replaced. The Horse had tears in his eyes.
Meanwhile the battle on the dance floor had hotted up, with Yak, Cappy and Cam fighting it out with the Unley boys. Yak in particular groovy form.
Quality play from the married men, Cam and the Horse, trying there upmost to spread the word of the White and setup the younger and somewhat less talented defence.
I cannot say that the WDXI won, what I can say is that all the funky people make the beauty of the world... that which makes the members of the WDXI...
Then I just don't know. The selector left at 5, only the married men and Yak were still standing... word.

It's been a hectic season, time to sit back, reflect and rebuild. The drinking
XI has had a wet season, with some great highlights and individual
performances. This is the last chance for players to make an impression,
and push for selection into the team for the "finals" (ie Bill Hill's event).
This weekend's BBQ and Mojo event will help the selectors decide who's in
who's boring, and the votes for Best & Fairest Drinker of the season.
• Armin & Richardo - last chance to avoid the reserves
• Bushe - can the youth step up?
• Perth - How is his home form?
• Cal - the last big game, his testimonial!
• Windows, Yak, Wookie, Horse - Drinker of the Year?
• Cam - unbelievable season, who would have thought?
Cappy
Best of luck,
tough decisions ahead, like who will make way for Marty upon his December demolition tour 2003?

After much discussion with the captains, it's been decided that all club men living OS cannot
be selected in the starting XI, although I am very disappointed in that decision. So those OS,
get your arse back!! Having said that, Diego has stormed into the lineup, with some classic
Mojo moments. We have also noticed a new lad coming though the system. Tim Levett was in fine
form on Saturday night, and we will be watching his progress with interest.

New rookie Dan Bushe has impressed the management, and has made the subs bench. We have an
injury crisis with Perth basically lost to the UK, so we're calling Cam back into the line-up.
Richardo's position is in doubt, following a shocking loss of form.

After some outstanding performances, particularly at Mojos over the past few weeks, the
management would like to congratulate Wookie on his promotion to the starting XI. Leo was so
disappointed with his relegation to the bench he has planned a special Lanie free trip to
Adelaide to set things right.
The management is extremely happy with the form of Cam, with a completely unexpected visit
to Mojos (while Jules is away - Cam can play).
